Trixie in Boyland: Getting Old

First of all, it doesn’t happen. You remember Peter Pan, the inventor of Boyland? Yeah. Well, in a sense it doesn’t happen. Children look at boys and see old men, but boys see each other as they always were. It’s not about appearance, it’s about spirit. Think The Matrix: everyone believes they’re still boys and so they are. Whiskey tastes as good as ever, tomorrow never comes, young girls are as attractive and even more unattainable than they were back in high school. Wives don’t live in boyland; they’re not there to remind boys of their responsibilities or make them wear clean socks or comment on their beer bellies. Mothers ditto. In Boyland, even old boys wish they had mothers, knowing they are safe from actually getting their wish. The reason Boyland exists, besides all those previously mentioned, is that no one gets old. End of story.
